Bandai Vinyls

These are the vinyl toys from Bandai. Soft plastic, minimal articulation, the most common and affordable merch.

Godzilla

Monster: Godzilla, Godzilla (1954)
Released: 2005

The original, the bestest bestie of them all! This thing's been through it, he's been in the pool, he's missing his tail tip, the base of his tail is glued on, one of his legs is glued on and stuck in place as a result, oh god has he been through it. Beloved childhood toy right here.

Godzilla 2000s

Monster: Godzilla, Godzilla 2000: Millennium (1999)
Released: ?

This vinyl breaks the mold and has a more dynamic pose than most others, something I didn't entirely appreciate as a child. For some reason that made it harder for me to play pretend with it. As an adult I appreciate the visual variety it brings. Very nice.

The Broken Melted Burning Godzilla

Monster: Godzilla, Godzilla vs. Destoroyah (1995)
Released: 2003

Its muzzle broke off one day when I was a kid and... My dad fixed it with clay, so... Here's melted broken fucked up bull terrier burning godzilla. Fun paintjob on this one!

Destoroyah

Monster: Destoroyah, Godzilla vs. Destoroyah (1995)
Released: 2005

Awesome figure. Arms and legs barely move but the wings do and it looks awesome.

King Ghidorah

Monster: King Ghidorah, Godzilla, Mothra and King Ghidorah: Giant Monsters All-Out Attack (2001)
Released: 2005

What cute faces! This guys color seems to have faded over the years, I'm tempted to repaint him. This ghidorah is from GMK, the movie where Godzilla is the bad guy and Ghidorah is the good guy, what a lovely fanfic-y concept. Love it.

Final Wars Godzilla

Monster: Godzilla, Godzilla: Final Wars (2004)
Released: 2005

I love Final Wars goji, he's very sleek and flexible but still reminiscent of the iconic original design. Which is to say that this figure looks good and felt very fun and dynamic as a kid.

Spacegodzilla

Monster: Space Godzilla, Godzilla vs. SpaceGodzilla (1994)
Released: ?

I never realized just how god damn giddy this guy looks until just now. That's the face of a guy that's downright scheming, just absolutely exalted over kidnapping your kid and putting it in a crystal prison. This is the only space godzilla in my collection I think, great guy.

Gigan

Monster: Gigan, Godzilla: Final Wars (2004)
Released: July 2005

Looking awfully smug for a guy missing the horn on top of his head. This version of gigan looks like he's wearing a latex fetish suit, fun! Which doesn't really show in this vinyl specifically, but maybe one day I could have one of those suspiciously posed and proportioned statues in my collection. Then you'd know what I was talking about. That was probably a really shocking thing to read. I mean just google "sexy gigan" if you don't believe me!

Hedorah

Monster: Hedorah, Godzilla vs. Hedorah (1971)
Released: 2007 or 2009

No headshot cause, well... He's pretty simple and all. No joints to move at all, and this isn't even the version with raised arms, no hes just standing there staring into space. I like his paintjob though.

Showa Godzilla

Monster: Godzilla, Destroy All Monsters (1968)
Released: ?

Can't find exact information on this figure but I know it's from Bandai's fourth wave and depicts the godzilla design from Destroy All Monsters. And I know this is an average amount of information portrayed in each of my entrys but I can't find much more info. I mean I easily could but I don't wanna.

Rodan

Monster: Rodan, Godzilla: Final Wars (2004)
Released:

The only Rodan I've got, he's been repainted here and there but I'm gonna give him a full do-over sometime again.

Huge Godzilla

Monster: Godzilla, Godzilla: Final Wars (2004)
Released: 2007 or 2009

This guys big, around 1 foot tall, and has an interesting winding tail. He looks bad from the front, but he looks perfectly menacing from the side. We all have our good and bad angles.

Huge Kiryu

Monster: Kiryu, Godzilla Against Mechagodzilla (2002), etc.
Released: ?

Another 1 foot or so tall guy. He's in a dynamic pose inherently cause his legs don't move. He has crayon marks on him, oops. Not sure who did that. Love this guy, kiryu is my favorite mechagodzilla design!

Huge Mechagodzilla

Monster: Mechagodzilla, Godzilla vs. Mechagodzilla (1974), etc.
Released: ?

I'm not particularly fond of the original mechagodzilla. This guy can't even stand on his own, which is normal for most figures I imagine but not here among the godzillas where everyone has huge tails to prop themselves up on!

GMK Godzilla

Monster: Godzilla, Godzilla, Mothra and King Ghidorah: Giant Monsters All-Out Attack (2001)
Released: 2005

He received a custom paintjob from my father many years ago, what a look. Sometimes I look at this and wonder if my penchant for painting figures comes from such things?

King Caesar

Monster: King Caesar, Godzilla vs. Mechagodzilla (1974)
Released: ?

This guy doesn't seem to have much merch to him, but here's his vinyl at least. The black around his eyes makes him look like one of those crusty white dogs named Coco or Bella but I still love him.

2014 Godzilla Vinyl

Monster: Godzilla, Godzilla (2014)
Released: July 2014

This one's visual texture is off in my eyes, I feel like it was cast in a different plastic or had different paint used on it so it feels wonky compared to the other vinyls. Oh well, this one has a watermelon squishy because that was set up on its tail on the shelf and I thought it would be cute to include in the picture. Still love him though.

Kamata-kun Vinyl

Monster: Shin Godzilla's 2nd Form, Shin Godzilla (2016)
Released: June 2016

Kamata-kun, part one of three birthday gifts from my partner, who was very open about how they were for him as well. I would like to give this guy a repaint. It looks like I started a basic wash just to add texture and grit, I think, but I'd like to do a lot more. Cause this man is rather... plain!

Shinagawa-kun Vinyl

Monster: Shin Godzilla's 3rd Form, Shin Godzilla (2016)
Released: June 2016

Shinagawa-kun, part two of three b-day gifts. I started on a repaint with this guy, adding more red marks to his creases and making the inside of his mouth red. Needs more work, though. I wish he stood up a bit straighter, he looks too similar to the kamata-kun vinyl as he is now. Which may sound silly but since I display them next to each other I would have liked more difference.
