Ambergris

1.1.0

Three images of a blue kangaroo partial fursuit.

Ambergris is my self-made partial kangaroo fursuit. See all photos in their original quality on Furtrack here.

Scroll through to get a closer look at his parts and to learn his history. I count different versions based on amount of work done between public appearances. And because I try my best to attend local furmeets once a month, that means public appearances are relatively frequent.

Details

Head

Well it's a fursuit head. Most notable features are 2D eyes and the ability to fit my glasses. His face is made out of foam but he is not a buckethead as he has no foam in the back.

Eyes

The white rings around his eyes are painted with glow in the dark paint while the black rings are glittery.

My fursuit head in dim lighting with the white parts glowing vividly due to the long exposure nature of the photograph.

Mouth

His mouth is all fleece with upper incisors, lower molars, and a tongue.

Hand Paws

His paws are a very heavily modified version of FaunaForge's Thylacine Paw Pattern.

1.0.0
They changed so much from 1.0 to 1.1 that they might as well count as a new pattern. Firstly, I shaved them and removed the claws. Then I re-adjusted the proportions of every finger and straightened out the fingers that were bent the wrong way. I also added hidden cuffs that are detailed in the arm sleeve section.

Arm Sleeves

Introduced with version 1.1.0.

An elastic strap connects both sleeves and runs across my shoulders, preventing them from slipping down my arms.

The wrist and shoulder ends both have hidden cuffs to prevent stretching, rips, and fraying.

Two photos showing the hidden cuffs on the wrist end of the arm sleeves. The left shows how it looks peering into the inside, and the second shows the sleeve being worn.

The cuffs were first sewn to the rim of the fur side, then flipped and sewn into the inside. Sewing down the cuffs of the arm sleeves.
Here's a shot of the sleeves after one pass with the shaver because I loved how the markings just appeared out of the fluff lines.

Tail

His tail is medium-length and shaped to curl around to appear long but still avoid touching the floor.

It has two elastic straps so that it can be secured to pants with belt loops more securely.
