Signs poster. A shot of crop circles against an orange and red firey sky

One of those movies where you can excuse plot holes and stupidity because of just how good the rest of the film is. It doesn't matter if the aliens don't make sense, I'd argue the movie isn't about them, they're just a plot device to drive the narrative before anything else. That's why the movie's from the perspective of random civilians in the middle of nowhere who only know what's happening thanks to news broadcasts rather than some military commander or something. At least, that's my interpretation. God knows what M. Night actually intended.

This isn't a movie for hard science fiction loving speculative biologists. This is a movie for people who like slowburn character-driven shit that just puts its heart into depicting people who feel fucked up and how those people interact with others. Someday I'll be able to verbalize why I find Signs excusable but not A Quiet Place, but for now I'm just blaming it on the heart of Signs. Signs had something it wanted to say and a story it wanted to tell.

While I, personally, am not exactly a fan of the message, I still do enjoy how it was delivered.
